Heartstart® FR3 Automated External Defibrillator

The Philips HeartStart FR3 automated external defibrillator (AED) is now available as an Aviation Package exclusively from Cabin Avionics Ltd.

Cabin Avionics Ltd now supply an Aviation Defibrillator Kit using the Laerdal FR3 (Philips Model 861389 with ECG) independently tested to the relevant sections of RTCA DO160 and EPA part marked for the Airline market, along with the required paperwork for a specific quantity of FR3’s each individually serialized on the accompanying Declaration of Design and Performance (DDP).

The Defibrillator Package (Assembly Part Number BAW152-1) consists of:

  • Defibrillator Model 861389
  • Semi Rigid Case
  • Battery Pack
  • Defibrillator Pad
  • Infant /Child Key
  • Fast Response Kit (Scissors, Razor, Gloves etc)
  • Declaration of Design and Performance (DDP)
  • Aircraft Crew Card
  • Certificate of Conformity
  • EPA Part Marking
  • Technical Reference Manual
  • Setup, Operation and Maintenance Manual

The FR3 is designed to replace the old FR2 Defibrillator (which is no longer in production) and is Fit Form and Function compatible for ease of retrofit to existing and new aircraft types.

In addition, Cabin Avionics can supply you with an EASA approved installation Modification pack from our EASA approved alliance partners.

The FR3 was selected as the preferred replacement for the FR2 for the following reasons:

With the use of the FR3 Infant/Child Key, the FR3 automatically reduces the defibrillation therapy to a level more appropriate for infants and children without changing pads.
